Sabu Kurian-A Rising Star in Republican Party

Sabu (Sebastian) Kurian-a young Indian-American-is a rising star in the Republican Party. He has been with the party of Lincoln ever since he turned 18. The 28 year old, hailing from Baltimore, has ever since played an active role in the Republican Party.He campaigned actively with various campaigns another Indian-American-Mr. Dilip Paliath ran. Mr. Kurian actively helped him in his successful bid to become the Baltimore county States Attorney and Dilip’s campaigns for Maryland House of Delegates. He also actively campaigned in various capacities in the 2008 Presidential campaign. Sabu does all these while maintaining a lucrative Law Practice.

In late 2008 Mr. Kurian took an active role in the formation an Indian American group called Republican Indian Committee (RIC) as a political action committee. Mr. Kurian said “Government does not create jobs; businesses do. We hope to unite Indian American business leaders as one voice in support of lower taxes, streamlined regulation, and accelerated exports as the engine of American economic growth and prosperity.” In the near future, RIC will be announcing additional events, along with the formation of various state chapters around the country.

The group is incorporated in the State of Virginia. Mr. Kurian is the President of the Maryland Chapter of the RIC. Mr. Kurian has established vital ties with the Republican hierarchy. He and his group recently met with Virginia Governor Mr. Bob McDonnell and discussed various matters. The Governor thanked the group for getting him elected. On the concerns of RIC the Governor said” “My very first Executive Order that I will sign soon will be to set up a task force to look at entrepreneurship and job creation.”. “Lt. Governor Bill Bolling will be in my Cabinet as Chief Job Creation Officer.”

In addition to job creation, he mentioned that his priorities Education Reform and Transportation. National Spokesman and one of the founding members, Dilip Paliath, commented, “Indian American Republicans have contributed to politicians for decades, but primarily as individuals. RIC is an effort to strengthen our ability to impact positively the communities where we live, work, and raise our families, by participating in the political process. It is no secret that there is strength in numbers.”

The group included Sabu Kurian and Mr. Dilip Paliath In the near future, RIC will be announcing additional events, along with the formation of various state chapters around the country.

Mr. Kurian’s parents are: Mathew & Saly Kurian. Liza-a Medical student-is his sister. His uncle Mr. Thomas P. Antony-The Chairman of the Global Malayalee Association of Maryland.
